Kids in the Hall Finally Fired Danny Husk

Danny Husk worked for A.T. & Love on Kids in the Hall for years but crossed a line that got him fired in the series' first season on Prime Video.

Few characters on Kids in the Hall have reached the legendary status of Danny Husk. This perennial employee of A.T. & Love rocked an outstanding mustache and went to work with a can-do attitude that few could match. But it was only a matter of time before his company man mentality would get him fired, which happened in the sketch comedy series' Prime Video return.

Like any good sketch comedy troupe, the Kids in the Hall had a veritable litany of recurring characters and settings. Fan favorites included the cops, the Head Crusher, and Buddy Cole. That last name in particular definitely warms the proverbial cockles of fans' hearts. Buddy's epic monologues in his eponymous bar were the highlight of virtually every episode he appeared in. The same was certainly true of the newest season, as Buddy made his return.

Season 1 of the Prime Video resurgence of Kids in the Hall was an excellent balance of new material and nostalgic wonder. All of the aforementioned characters came back as did an important setting, A.T. & Love. During the original run, it was a catchall for corporate America in the 1980s and 1990s. What A.T. & Love actually did was never made clear. They seemed to be involved in pretty much anything and everything, like any good nebulous multinational corporation. And Danny Husk was up to any task they handed him.

No matter what A.T. & Love threw at him, Danny took on the challenge with a twinkle in his eye and a twitch of his finely coiffed mustache. It also didn't hurt that Danny never seemed particularly bright, which is why his boss kept coming to him with such absurd tasks. At one point, Danny was actually made to run on a treadmill so that A.T. & Love could bottle his musky sweat and sell it. But Danny's sweaty juices nearly destroyed society, so his boss had his armpits cemented shut. Because that was the only sensible option.

In Season 1, Episode 3 of the Prime Video series, Danny's company-first mindset finally cost him his job. Once again, he listened too closely to what his boss had to say and they both ended up becoming unemployed. Frankly, Danny probably should have thought about what his boss was saying more often throughout his A.T. & Love career. That guy was not trustworthy.

At the same time, Danny worked for him for decades without questioning a single order he was given. Again, Danny let his boss bottle his sweat and eventually cement his armpits shut. That happened 30 years ago and Husk was still working for the guy. The most impressive thing about this scenario was how devoted Danny was to his job. Imagining what horrors A.T. & Love subjected Danny to during the many years between seasons boggles the mind.

It was a pair of clown shoes that finally crossed the line and got him terminated. Of all the crazy things Danny had been involved in over the years, it was shoes that did the man's career in. His termination could actually make things interesting for the next season of Kids in the Hall on Prime Video. Seeing what Danny does next could be fun, though a return to A.T. & Love does seem on brand for him.
