Cyber cops nab fraudster, seize Rs 17 lakh worth valuables : Welcome to Mysooru News

Mysuru: Cyber crime, economic offences and narcotics (CEN) police busted a case and seized Rs 17.41 lakh worth valuables including Rs 15 lakh worth cash, besides arresting an accused in the case.

The accused who is in the knowhow of the complainant has somehow collected the details of the latter’s HDFC debit card and CVV number. Using the details the accused had bought gold coins for Rs 20 lakh and other articles from Amazon. He had liquidated the gold coins for Rs 15.05 lakh and had kept the cash with him.

Acting on the information provided by the accused, police seized Rs 15.05 lakh cash, Rs 2.16 lakh worth two cameras, TV, camera lens, treadmill, speaker, UPS and gold chain weighing four grams worth totalling Rs 17.41 lakh.

In his complaint, the victim had alleged that Rs 21,02,021 lakh had been debited from his card from November 1, 2020 to December 24, 2020, without his notice.

CEN Inspector N Jayakumar led police team that included PSIs Anil Kumar N, Siddesh M L and ASI Subhash Chandra, Nagendra and Basha.

The investigation was carried out under the guidance of DCP (Law and order) Dr Pradeep Gunti and ACP ( Devaraja sub- division) Shashidhar M N.

Police Commissioner Dr Chandragupta has congratulated the police team for cracking the case.
