KATVR has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the KAT Walk C2 VR treadmill series. This second-generation treadmill from the brand allows you to walk or run freely with a full 360° range of motion while staying in the same spot thanks to a waist harness. Your arms and hands remain free to carry out other physical actions.

The KAT Walk C2 series has improved Duplex Kinetics Walking Solution for enhanced stability and more natural movement. Custom footwear lets you choose between five levels of friction, and propulsive walk-power assistance makes it easier to move so you can play for longer.

The KAT Walk C2+ is an advanced version of the device with integrated haptic feedback and adjustable LED lights. The VR Vehicle Hub provides haptic road event simulation, and the Sitting Posture Module allows you to sit while you play.

The treadmills are compatible with all Oculus Home PC VR, Steam VR and Playstation VR titles with free locomotion, including Skyrim, Half-Life: Alyx and Resident Evil 7. The company is also working on Oculus Quest Standalone support.

Plus, the treadmill can operate as an independent “controller” with headsets such as Valve Index, Oculus Rift and HTC VIVE. The gadget is compatible with Oculus Quest and Quest 2 headsets via Airlink and Virtual Desktop.

You can now buy the KAT Walk C2 VR treadmill with custom-friction shoes and a pair of optical sensors on Kickstarter for US$998. The same package with the C2+ costs US$1,198, and both devices are expected to ship in July.
